How Do Our Syndicates Work?
Our Syndicate Agreement is designed to protect the shareholders rights and benefits and helps to ensure integrity. It provides a simple but effective framework so that we can all adhere to the same rules and benefit from the same outcomes.
An example of some of the issues covered within the Agreement would be the naming of the horse. Each member is asked to submit their favorite names, the list of names is given back to the syndicate and they are asked to rank the names in order of preference. The top names are submitted to New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing (NZTR) and they check their availability and select the first available name on the list. The Agreement also covers the various aspects of the Syndicate Manager’s responsibilities and the procedures followed if a member defaults their payments or dies. If there is a significant decision to be made such as gelding or major veterinary intervention it will be discussed and the decision agreed upon before it is performed. We also offer each syndicate the free use of our racing colours. Racing is a game of highs and lows so it is important to bare in mind that nature dictates that there are more losers than there are winners so only invest what you can afford to lose. |
